Located next to the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater, the 55th Street Lofts transformed a former water distillation facility into a 39,000ft2, 24 unit residential building with additional penthouse and terrace levels. Many of the hallmark design features were discovered and detailed in the field during construction. The concrete pan-joists, for example, were sandblasted and patched to reveal unique and dramatic exposed architectural ceilings.
